He has cruised the world himself, and that shows in his excellent seaworthy designs. Epoxy/woodcore sailingyacht Koopmans 46 "Free Spirit", built in 1992-1995, dim.: 14,30 (lwl 11,30) x 4,06 x 2,30 mtr, headway: 19,80 mtr, design by Dick Koopmans Sr., designnr.: 233-239, hull, deck and superstructure constructed with great care and overspec details, woodcore (Makouré) with inner and outer laminate, teakdecks (15mm), teak rubbingstrake with s.s. strip, perspex windows in aluminium framing, Goiot deckhatches, roundbilged hull, fin keel, steel keel with lead ballast, fueltank: 1 x 400 ltrs (s.s.), freshwatertank: approx. 350 ltrs in three tanks (s.s.), sumptank: 100 ltrs (s.s.), Whitlock Cobra mechanical wheelsteering.

Classic makouré/ash trimmed interior, 2 cabins and saloon, forward ownerscabin with double berth and ensuite toilet and washbasin, guestcabin aft (partly finished) with single berth (optional two berths), toilet and shower next to compagnionway, Eberspaecher diesel ducted air diesel heating, headroom: 2.00-1.85 mtr, galley: electric waterpressure system, Frigomatic watercooled 12v fridge (130 ltrs), Force 10 three burner gasstove with oven, boyler hot water system (220v/engine), crockery, an abundance of stowayspace.

Fixed windscreen with sprayhood (s.s.frame), Lewmar 2000 heavy duty windlass with capstan, CQR s.s. anchor with 50mtr chain, spare parts, fenders, warps, cockpit table, clock, barometer, TV-antenna, boardingladder, all Lewmar deckgear.

Sloop-cutter-rigged, Proctor aluminium silver anodised mast, double spreader with diamond spreader in top, 2 x Reckmann furlers for main and yankee, 4 sails: main 44m2 / furling yankee 49m2 (North Sails 2005) / furling staysail 24,5 m2 (North Sails 2005) / gennaker with squeezer 125m2, covers for main, yankee and staysail, slabreefing for main, Navtec hydraulic backstayadjuster, Proctor rigid boomvang, 2 x 54CEST electric primary sheet winches / 2 x 44CST secondary sheet winches / 2 x 44CST halyard winches / 30CST reef winch / 44CST mainsheet winch, all by Lewmar, spi-pole stowed at mast.
