Beeldsnijder 55 MY "Aquila 2000", launched in 2001, dim.: 16.34 m (Lwl 14,05 m) x 4,60 m x 1,35 m, headway (with portal mast down): approx. 3.60 m, designed by Mr. Pieter Beeldsnijder, casco made by Flevo Jachtbouw B.V., the interior by Drinkwaard, technical installation by Intertech and the electrical installation by Molenaar elektro. Casco is fully welded steel grade "A", after completion sandblasted and painted with Awl-grip then isolated with a 40 mm CFK fireproof isolation, the superstructure is built from sea water proof aluminium, the deck is teak laid by Drinkwaard of 22 mm thickness, tinted isolated double glass is used in anodised aluminium profiles, the dark blue round bilged hull and the off- white superstructure are painted with Awl-grip, the bulwark and guard rail are made of s.s. 316, a rubber fender in s.s. rail is placed round about, empty weight: approx. 26 tonnes, fuel-, water- and grey water tanks are all placed in the double bottom; two fuel tanks with a total capacity of approx. 4.000 litres, two water tanks with a total of approx. 1.500 litres (s.s.), two grey water tanks with a total of approx. 900 litres, wheel steering on a hydraulic system with a double working cylinder, two s.s. spade rudders with hydrodynamic profile, "Powersteering" by Autopilot.

Classic teak interior, designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder with much round solid teak details, all the classic round lines from the outside come back in the inside. The light interior is varnished with silk shine thus creating an atmosphere of comfort and luxury. Interior lay out from front to aft: fore peak with V- berth, separate head with shower and toilet, galley with s.s. round sink, Corian work top, Siemens fridge, Siemens ceramic cooking plate, Bosch Microwave, Siemens extractor, AEG 1571 Turbo combi washing machine and dryer, saloon with L-shaped seating, creme leather upholstery, teak table (can be adjusted in height), TV and stereo, passage to aft cabin with on both side the entrance to the engine rooms (watertight bulks), for safety reasons a total of three watertight bulks (one in the front in case of a collision; two in the engine rooms) are placed, in the aft master cabin a desk is placed in between two large separate berths and ensuite head, all berths have Auping matresses, lot of stowage space through various sized lockers, both heads have Corian sinks and a teak grating in the shower, the toilets are Waterflush electric (220V) and fully automatic, they flush either in waste tank or outside, showers and sinks are connected to the grey water tanks which you can either pump overboard or use the connection on deck to suck it empty at a pump station, electric water pressure through 24V hydrophor installation with pressure tank of 2,2 Bar (capacity 16 ltr/ min.), hot water through 75 litres boiler which is heated by either a 220V heating element inside or indirect heated by the intercooling of the engine, for the extra comfort there's Eberspaecher D8l.C heating with thermostatic control and Chiller airco unit with 4 extra units for saloon and cabins, halogen lighting (with dimmer) and reading lights throughout, indirect lighting with dimmer on stairs and in saloon (controls in saloon and in both cabins), all opening hatches have musquito screens, good flight ways through large deck hatches, outside you have a beautiful seating in the cockpit which can be easily closed by using special crafted canvas sails, the cockpit consists of an U- shaped bench with cosy cushions, two teak tables and two loose teak chairs which can be either used to sit at the table or to sit behind the steering wheel (both chairs are adjustable in height), at the aft you have a nice bench with s.s. grip and teak seating, enough room to place extra chairs and a table, easy accessible bathing platform with boarding ladder and two extra s.s. bollards to moor a dinghy.

Well fitted engine rooms, twin Volvo Penta TAMD63L diesel engines, each good for 250 hp, Centaflex hydraulic clutch type: IRW 220-17, reduction 2,47:1, indirect cooling system, under water outlet, 60 Ah dynamo, Rocon fuel filters, day tank of approx. 70 litres, automatic fire extinguishing system on CO2 in each engine room, cruising speed 10 - 11 knots, twin four bladed bronze 28" propellers, oil lubricated prop shafts, 24V electrical bowthruster with 130 Kgf thrust, electric systems of 12V/ 24V and 220V system, shore power on fore deck, Mastervolt system 4c 10.000, all batteries are semi- traction maintenance free gel: two engine start batteries of 24V/ 200 Ah, one generator start battery of 24V/ 85 Ah, for the system 6 batteries of 24V/ 600 Ah, buffer battery of 12V/ 85 Ah, Westerbeke whispergen generator of 9,4 Kw 290V 50 Hz, 4 cylinders (1500 Rpm) covered with extra plastic cover, earth leakage breaker, isolator, three separate fully automatic battery chargers; charger I is a three steps charger with temperature sensor for light batteries, charger II charges and maintains the start batteries of the engine, charger III charges and maintains the generator and buffer battery, two invertors: one Sinus invertor 24/ 3000W inverts 24V to 230V AC, other 20 Ah invertor, inverts 24V to 12V type IVO 8770, all switches/ breakers/ controls and control meters are placed on one large specially crafted control panel in the saloon, all lighting is in 24V, sockets have 220V. While building noise reduction was a key- issue, all turning and shaking parts, like main engines, generator, pumps, were placed on rubber and are flexible linked. The engine rooms are soundproof and watertight welded and are from the inside isolated with 100 mm isolation covered with a perforated s.s. plate, air inlets are silenced.

The navigation equipment is very complete and consists of: Halcyon 2000 fluxgate compass, Brookes & Gatehouse combined wind/ log/ depth model 240-pk-2 inclusive mast unit sensors, processor and NMEA FFD, two analogue indicators 360 and 50 kts windspeed, Sailor RT4800 A1 VHF, Furuno radar/ GPS FRS-1000a with 60 cm dome/ antenna/ DGPS receiver/ moving card indicator, Brookes & Gatehouse hydra pilot 240 hp ACp2 incl. computer- unit Pilot FFA; hydro pump T3, all antennas, the searchlight and the dome are placed on a portal mast which can be hydraulic lowered.

The cockpit can close completely by using an ingenious system made of canvas, the cockpit roof can easily be opened by a system on nylon runners, the halogen searchlight on the portal mast can be operated from the steering position, forward there's a special designed ladder for easy going on- and off board when you are with the bow to the pier. For anchoring there's a 24V Lewmar electrical windlass with a galvanised Bruce anchor with chain in a big chain locker. Two lockers in the deck were created for your extra warps and lines, the 4 fenders normally hang on the back. All bollards are from heavy s.s..
