This design by Van de Stadt & Partners can be cruised fast yet safe, is well balanced and easy to handle. Ideal for long distance cruising. She comes equipped with generator, bow thruster, electric windlass, recent instrumentation, central heating, etc.

Wood Epoxy sailing yacht, Van de Stadt 1550 Cruiser "Good News", built in 1989 by Mr. Beukers of Marina Flying Arrow in Noordwijk - Holland, design by E.G. Van de Stadt & Partners.
Dim.: Loa 15,50 m (Lwl 12,50 m) x 4,70 m x 1,85 m, headway: approx. 24,80 m.
Wood Epoxy hull, superstructure and deck, teak deck of '05, hull and superstructure painted with AWLGRIP by Klaver Yachtpainting, Lewmar deck hatches, Lewmar portholes, round bilged hull, wing keel.
Fuel tank: approx. 600 litres, two fresh water tanks: 1x 600 + 1x 500 litres, sump tank (shower), level indicators for fuel and fresh water, displacement: approx. 14,6 tonnes, ballast: approx. 6,5 tonnes, wheel steering, wheel cover, emergency tiller.
Teak interior, saloon + three cabins + workshop, 6 (+1) berths, central heating with radiators, Eberspächer water heater, electric water pressure system, hot water through boiler (runs on 220V and engine).
Aft: owners cabin with double berth and settee, own marine head; wash bowl, manual toilet (vacuum) and shower (electric pump). Separate workshop with entrance to engine room.
Amidships:
Saloon, chart table and galley; sink S/S, Force 10 four burner stove with oven, Frigoboat large fridge and freezer.
Forward: two cabins with two single berths. Marine head with wash bowl, manual toilet (vacuum) and shower (electric pump).
Perkins 4.236 - 4 cylinders - 80 hp diesel engine, propeller shaft stainless steel - water lubricated, Max prop - two bladed.
Electric system recent partly renewed, electric circuit: 12V/24V/220V, shore power, five batteries, Mastervolt battery charger and battery guard system.
Northern Light 2 cylinder generator of 3,5 kVA, Vetus electric bow thruster 95 kgf of '05.
Electric and manual bilge pumps.
C-Plath compass - type Venus, Raymarine navigation equipment of '07: echo sounder / log / wind set: speed + direction, Grapic meter, Kenwood SSB radio, Furuno radar (defect), Fastnet radio, Simrad NS87 VHF, Shipmate RS 8100 VHF, Autohelm GPS, handheld GPS, Raymarine autopilot of '04, Panasonic radio with CD player.
Fixed windscreen with Gebo windows and canvass roof, electric windlass, two anchors, anchor chain, safety buoys, Plastimar 8 persons life raft (next inspection before March 2009), integrated bathing platform with S/S boarding ladder, S/S two wired sea railing, tender with outboard, two fire extinguishers.
Sloop rigged, Proctor two spreader aluminium mast - overhauled/painted, Proctor aluminium boom. Diamant rig, Reckmann head sail furling system, sails: Hood battened main sail of '02, Hood furling genoa of '02, spinnaker, half winder, storm jib and try sail, sail cover, spi pole.
Barbarossa winches: 3x ST two speed on mast + 5x ST two speed in cockpit.
